Pantai Kerachut

Pantai Kerachut is located at the north-east side of Penang Island. It is one of the beaches under the care of Penang National Park and is relatively undisturbed and tranquil beach is popular among the locals. You can choose to hike for approx 45 minutes or charter a boat at approx RM 50 per way.
One of the attraction of Pantai Kerachut is its unique Meromictic Lake. The lake water consist of 2 different layer, the top layer is the warmer saltier water from the sea and the cold fresh water from the mountain is near the bottom of the lake. Both the sea water and the fresh water meet up at this lake to form this unique phenomenon.
Watch out for jelly fish though if you plan to swim in the sea.
